Yevgeniya S. Baras, currently residing in Brooklyn she attended school in Chicago at SAIC. Her Paintings deal with, amongst many other ideas, “Pattern as a reference to craft, femininity, a female rebellion, something domestic and soothing but also because its geometry is a system of logic, somehow reliable (it is imperfect, you can see the hand of the artist in it, humors rigidity but appreciates some level of rules).”. Her home is Philadelphia by way of Russia, having widely shown here in Philly several years ago this will be a kind of homecoming exhibition.
Philadelphia multimedia artist Robert Scobey will be exhibiting some of his newest video works and sculpture. Scobey’s videos use the time-based nature of the medium to disrupt sequence and manipulate gravity. Repetition, variations of speed, and reverse-motion invite interrogations of causality, time and space. Arrows of time travel both directions in a world where objects self-destruct and then reconstruct themselves.
